Fireworks Show Ignited by Auto Truck Crash Near Lebanon
A head on collision on United States Road 52 south of Ebano n Lebanon caused a fireworks trailer to explode and ignited vast flames across cornfields. Two members of a Negro vaudeville team were injured. Clifford Jones, 27, remained unconscious in a Lebanon hospital while Elma Turner, 19, was seriously hurt. The truck and trailer carrying fireworks worth about 10 000 to 12 000 dollars were destroyed. Traffic stalled as flames and debris spread.

Car Driver Killed When Train Hits Auto Near City
Robert Shepard 27 of 4813 East Raymond street died after his car stalled on State Road 52 a mile north of West Thirtieth street and was struck by a Big Four train. The engine crew and witnesses said the car crossed the tracks and the motor was hurled 400 yards. Shepard had spent Wednesday evening with his fiancée Miss Phyllis Loucks of Lebanon. Several other injuries were reported in unrelated accidents including Ed Stanley and Melvin Jennings.
