Sleet blamed for wreck of Liberty Limited near Lima
A sleet storm in northern Ohio caused the Liberty Limited to crash into the rear of the Broadway Limited four miles west of Lima on Friday night, injuring about 40 with 16 seriously hurt. Engineer Henry Strauser of the Liberty and several Chicago and Valparaiso residents were among the injured. Wreckage disrupted telegraph lines and rail signals as ambulances rushed to hospitals in Lima.
