Richmond Has Fire Endangering Property Nearby Tanks

Richmond Ind March 20 Fire destroyed three gasoline tanks at the Refiners Oil Company plant containing 4 000 gallons. Firefighters saved adjacent tanks holding 18 000 gallons of gasoline and kerosene. The blaze was fought by all city fire companies and did not spread to nearby storage.

Lynn B. Lewis Named New Mayor of Bloomington

Lynn B. Lewis, a city councilman, was elected mayor of Bloomington to fill the unexpired term of the late John G. Harrison. The council chose Lewis after Oscar H. Cravens withdrew from the race, breaking a deadlock that had persisted since Monday.
