A weekend burglary wave hit 35 homes and businesses, with two filling station safes cracked and more than 2000 dollars taken overall. Four suspects were arrested, plus two who confessed to a Saturday incident. Loot included cash, jewelry, tools, clothing, and household items across multiple addresses citywide.
George Allen Chisholm a 35 year old Canadian World War veteran confessed to drowning his two sons and was to be arraigned for a preliminary hearing in Municipal Court East Chicago Indiana. Special Judge William J Murray was to hear the case with a likely waiver for action by the Lake County grand jury now in session.
Ohio inventor Robert Condit postponed his planned rocket flight to Venus citing perfect atmospheric conditions. Mrs Myron L Boyer failed to appear before a Federal immigration board investigating the alleged illegal entry of four year old Joseph Andrew Boyer. The case centers on a claimed illegitimate birth in Windsor Ontario and a forged birth record used to secure a $5 000 000 trust for the boy. Myron Boyer has filed suit to remove the birth record and disavow the child.
Judge James A. Collins names two lists of special judges. Moore trial panel includes Howard S. Young Homer Eliott and Dan V. White. Dorsett panel includes William B. McMaster Albert Rabb and Thomas E. Garvin. Moore faces trial March 15 and Dorsett March 22 on bribery charges linked to voting against impeaching Mayor John L. Duvall.

Boyle, 1464 N Pennsylvania St, filed for patent June 23, 1927, and says the device uses accumulators to generate its own current, yielding higher output than input. He notes tests with a 110-volt setup powering lamps and motors, aided by six wet batteries, with his sons Ed Jr and Jacob helping.
Deputy Prohibition Administrator for Indiana Winkler reportedly failed a civil service exam and faces retirement. Indiana Anti Saloon League and church leaders protest, urging reconsideration. Federal officials noted his strong record and hinted he could head a new enforcement district if kept on.
