Bang Now Rifle Squad May Lie in Ambush for Courthouse Rats
County commissioners received a suggestion from Bailiff Fahey of the juvenile court that 14 000 rats said to live in the courthouse could be diminished if the Indianapolis Gun Club’s services were used. Fahey proposed sharpshooters on each judge’s bench on Saturdays, claiming they could kill many rats by shooting with eyes shut. Commissioner Tutewoller objected about holes in floors and walls while Fahey dismissed concerns. A black cat returned to juvenile court with two other cats, and the court had caught one pigeon so far.
