Puzzle a Day: minimal blocks for square base and cube house

Mary builds a square platform one cube high and John places a solid cube house atop it using the same total blocks. The smallest solution requires a square number for the base and a cube number for the total, so total blocks n is both a perfect square and a perfect cube, i.e. a sixth power. The least such n is 64, giving Mary 16 blocks for a 4 by 4 platform and John 48 blocks for a 4 by 4 by 2 arrangement, though variants exist with different base sizes but the same total.
