Court order halts Dodge merger deal in New York
A New York Supreme Court temporary injunction blocks the 250 million Dodge Brothers Inc and Chrysler merger. Col. Calvin Hocker Goddard of Richmond, Va., seeks relief against Dillon Read & Co. holdings claiming asset transfers should honor preferred stock rights. The plan would swap Dodge preferred for Chrysler common at five to one for A shares and ten to one for B shares, leaving Dodge holders with about 29 percent of Chrysler stock.
