Brewers Fail To Fight Near Beer Seizure In Des Moines
Ten carloads of near beer from Manitowoc Wisconsin were seized in Des Moines Iowa after local agency attorneys did not file a court order. John B. Hammond led the seizure as authorities planned a hearing in municipal court. Hammond then turned attention to Boone Iowa where another shipment from Sheboygan Wisconsin was expected. Dealers complained of advertising calling the shipment the greatest train of near beer in the Midwest.
