Two Youths Dead After Interurban Collision
Two youths died after being struck by interurban cars near Belmont Avenue and the tracks. Cleaise Hawen, 17, of 10278 State Ave., was fatally injured Tuesday night while riding on a motorcycle tandem driven by Luther Howard. A second unidentified youth died at city hospital from injuries from a Sunday auto collision four miles east on the National Road. Howard faces involuntary manslaughter charges. Frank Hawkins of 45 N Addison St., motorman, also charged. The unidentified rider was in an auto driven by William Henderson of Dayton, Ohio. The bodies were taken to Royer and Askin undertaking parlors.
