Board postpones action on free book proposal
Indianapolis school board takes no action on free textbooks or platoon system. Proposals were referred to committees for study in mid May, with Dr Marie Haslop saying the issue remains sleeping in committee. Graff stated reports would come at the next meeting, but none appeared. A similar fate met the platoon system investigation. In Columbus, a masked bandit robbed Virge's Wood and Miss Minnie Milander on Lovers Lane, obtaining only a small sum.
