Car Flung Sixty Feet After Interurban Collision
Michael Tierney, 32, of 637 North Dearborn Street, drove a Ford coupe that was hurled sixty feet and struck an iron post in front of Claffey grocery at 6055 College Avenue after being hit by a Union Traction Company interurban early today. Tierney suffered a head cut but it was not serious. the post broke off and the store roof porch was damaged. Motorman Bernie Lewis of Tipton, Indiana, said Tierney crossed in front of the traction car in the 6 000 block. Tierney received head wounds at city hospital and was charged with driving a car while intoxicated.
