The Case of Sergeant Grischa film review gloom
A harsh cinematic critique describes The Case of Sergeant Grischa as a grim war drama with Grischa's execution by firing squad as a shocking ending. Alec B Francis and Gustav Van Seyfferitz praised for humanity and cruelty respectively, while Chester Morris and Betty Compson receive mixed judgments. The piece contrasts the film with Journey's End and All Quiet, noting its somber tone and lack of dramatic realism.
