Railway defies order to move tracks for boulevard paving
Hammond Whiting and East Chicago Railway Company officials refuse to relocate tracks on Indianapolis Boulevard for paving work. The Indiana State highway commission ordered the move to finish the project, threatening track removal by the state if needed. The company says removal costs about 100000 dollars and should be shared with the state, while awaiting a court injunction.
