About 300 visitors from the Masonic Home at Franklin will attend the York Rite picnic Saturday at Broad Ripple Park. Alva J. Rucker will be principal speaker. Eastern Star aides will escort visitors with Jessie B. Craig directing. The Home boys band will perform.

Local man Ridley found guilty in Indianapolis murder
Shelbyville dispatch says John Ridley, colored, of Indianapolis, was found guilty of the murder of Bessie Frazier, colored, also of Indianapolis. The jury returned verdict on a change of venue from Indianapolis and Ridley was sentenced to life imprisonment. Judson Stark, deputy prosecutor of Marion County, led the state’s case.
