London dispatch reports private talks ahead of open plenary session on Thursday. Delegates aim to agree on cruiser tonnage limits and class-based ceilings with France and Italy at odds over topic order and scope. The plan includes a six item agenda and reporters may attend the Thursday session.
The prohibition bureau transfer bill from the treasury to the justice department will likely be reported to the house on Thursday in substantially the form recommended by the law enforcement commission. Chairman Williamson of the expenditure committee announced the development today.
President and Mrs. Hoover dined with Attorney General Mitchell marking the third cabinet dinner in Washington. Treasury Secretary Mellon and War Secretary Gurley had already hosted them, with others to follow at about weekly intervals.

In Hot Springs Idaho a 42 mile snow trek by Dr J P Weber a guide and a musher brought aid to Fred Burke a miner suffering blood poisoning at Green Mountain cabin. Weber reports Burke out of danger. Weather data included with hourly temperatures.
The Times and the Indiana Theater invite girls and women aged 16 to 26 to enter the Sunshine Girl contest. Preliminary show opens next week with five finalists to perform for the title and cash prizes totaling 200 dollars. Winners chosen by audience applause will perform in all shows. Entry blanks appear today on Page 7.
In Chicago on January 29 an attempted bombing aimed at Patrick Roche the chief investigator for State's Attorney John Swanson was thwarted by a Negro attendant Clifford Jones. The same night a dynamite blast rocked Michigan avenue wrecking the Lewis E Bower Automobile Loan office and shattering glass as far as two blocks away injuring no one seriously.
In Los Angeles on January 29, Mrs. Della Lee killed her lover Howard Moore as he slept then shot herself. Police found both bodies in her apartment. A note to Mrs. Lee’s sister cited fear and Moore’s threats as motive, promising she would be dressed in white with a yellow rose.
A Filipino clubhouse that serves as a dance hall and rooming house was bombed during rioting between whites and Filipinos in Stockton California. Police reported no serious injuries among numerous occupants.
Wabash River threatens to spill from its channel near an eight mile ice gorge south of Evansville as residents fear a possible ice gorge break. National Guard aviators report marooned refugees receiving food and clothing while pilots recount rescues and starving families. An Evansville refugee mother died giving birth in a barn. a baby perished. Several households remain unaccounted for as floodwaters isolate the region.
Army engineers from Louisville under War Department orders begin a survey of flood conditions in the Wabash river valley with Vincennes as the survey center and Terre Haute headquarters. R S Taylor of Louisville leads the staff while lower Wabash valley National Guard airmen aid flood refugees by dropping food and clothing.
Detroit report says national guard sergeant Joseph I Peggoine was arraigned for the death of private Stanley Prunsinowsky who fled as Peggoine attempted arrest. Peggoine was held in default of bond set at $100,000.
Firemen police and gas company employes treated six bus passengers partly overcome by fumes from a heater during a Indianapolis to St. Louis trip Tuesday night using inhalators.
At Emerson avenue crossing of the Newcastle interurban line a traction car crashed into an automobile. Dead are William Koch and his wife of Fort Wayne. Injured is Mrs. Arno Gruenert, 27, of Fort Wayne, who was taken to Methodist hospital. Motorman W. R. Grandison and conductor Frank Shelton, both of Newcastle, were on the traction car. License on the car issued to Mary Scholz of Fort Wayne. Gruenert sister is Mrs. Keck. Gruenert works at S F Bowser in Fort Wayne.
Claude Udwin, once missing, is on trial today in Auburn with five fellow convicts for participation in the shooting of Henry Sullivan during the Auburn prison riot. Morris Udwin, his Oklahoma City father, attends daily, hoping for his son’s rehabilitation.
A brief January thaw lasted two days before temperatures dropped to four degrees above zero at 7 am. Meteorologist J. H. Armington predicted a rise of five degrees in two hours signaling warmer temps tonight with a low near ten degrees above zero. Forecast calls for fair weather today and Thursday with a general temperature rise across Indiana.
Lieutenant Francis Francis, formerly of the British army, arrived in New York with his American showgirl wife Sunny Jarman and walked from the Olympic Club stating he was fed up with the army, ending the publicized tale of renouncing a promising career for love.

George H Healey of the Indianapolis Street Railway Company proposed Tuesday night to the Butler Fairview Civic Association at Fairview Presbyterian church a through bus service from downtown to Fifty second Street and Capitol Avenue. The current feeder route from Thirty fourth and Illinois to Fifty second and Capitol would be discontinued. He noted the feeder bot service posted a loss exceeding 20000 during 1929. The association set February 11 for a special meeting to decide. The company will not file with the Public Service Commission before that meeting.
A 65 year old Detroit woman Emily Fields disappeared after her sixth prohibition conviction. Judge Harry S. Sweeney set a 300 dollar bond to ensure her appearance. If captured she faces seven and a half to fifteen years for four state liquor law violations. The bond was posted by her daughter who says she does not know her mother's whereabouts.
Giu seppe De Paoli received a three months imprisonment for robbing a poor box in Vatican City. This marks the first jail sentence handed out in the new papal state and he will serve the term in Vatican City jail.
