State inspector dies while driving to Logansport

Girl Leaps From Fire To Net In Eight-Story Fall
In Chicago on February 11 a girl Miss Marguerite Payne aged 25 leaped from the eighth floor into a life net after two men did the same. Fumes from a pillow factory fire drove them onto a ledge where five others waited for ladders. Payne fractured her left leg on landing, while a rebound injured a man’s cheek and another’s collarbone.
