Elephants Sown Temperament Trouble at Circus Quarters
In Peru Indiana December 19 the American Circus Corporation faced an elephant temperament clash. Hagenbeck-Wallace sent thirteen elephants to the winter HQ, Sells-Floto added fifteen, sparking surly behavior. To ease tension, Sells-Floto elephants moved to West Baden while Wallace elephants arrived in their stead. Jerry Magavin, president, said he is helpless to stop the spat.
