Beech Grove Catholic church plans 150000 cathedral
Father Peter Killian says Beech Grove will see a new $150000 church building soon. The Catholic group already runs Holy Name Church and a school, with expansions including a girls boarding school and university site on 53 acres behind the hospital. Plans also call for two hospital wings doubling capacity to 200 beds and a cathedral high school on Sherman Street and Southern Ave as Bishop Chatrand acquires the land. The parishioner base has grown from about 58 students in 1922 to 100 this September, and Killian foresees starting work within five years.
