Slight Chance Seen To Chop Marion County Levy

A civic affairs committee official says the Marion County tax levy proposed by County Auditor Harry Dunn may be reduced. He notes there is no real 5.5 cent increase since extra funds on top of the 26.5 cent levy bring the total to about 29.5 cents for the year. Possible cuts could target the 3 cent track elevation levy. The track project will cost $288,000 annually for ten years.
