Austin Johnson, 25, of 1234 West Thirty fourth street, is held at police HQ on a vagrancy charge after a prank yielded pink bloomers. Robert Miller, a billiard hall janitor, saw the bloomers. the room later was robbed of cigars. Johnson claims the items were planted as a joke and says he was with his sweetheart when questioned.
Dale Jackson and Forrest O Brine, world endurance flight champions, landed The Greater St. Louis monoplane at 6 39 a m following a 647 hour flight. They lost the $200000 prize but retained the title, citing a crankcase crack and oil leakage as the cause of their forced descent.
A wild oil gusher in Oklahoma City released oil and gas mists endangering life and property. The well, brought in by C. C. Julian, leaked and blew out Sunday night. Crews worked to halt the flow by pouring cement into the hole today.

Earl Chism, 37, was captured while attempting to crack a North Capitol Ave safe, as another yegg plundered a pool hall safe for 95 dollars and two revolvers.
