City health officials dismiss calls for measures as spring fever spreads through Indianapolis. Dr. Herman Morgan says the malaise stems from lack of leafy vegetables and spring tonic foods, causing laziness and a craving for greens. He notes no proven prevention and calls it a pleasant affliction.
Dr Morgan explains spring fever as the body's adjustment to humidity and temperature changes. Other doctors agree the epidemic need not alarm, urging outdoor sport and exercise as the cure. Victims yawn, shed coats, and head to golf links or baseball parks.
