Mrs. Theodore Ross dies at 165 Fayette St from typhoid and pneumonia two weeks after her husband was jailed on embezzlement charges. He was allowed to visit her before returning to custody. the tearful scene ended with a farewell kiss. The jailer relayed the news while Ross paced his cell in sorrow.
D J Barnes and others of Chicago claim stockholder status in the Fidelity building and loan association of this city and request the state auditor investigate alleged unlawful conduct and misstatements. The auditor will act once stockholder proof is shown. E L Robison, secretary, counters Barnes motives after a foreclosure, saying Barnes lacks financial interest and seeks inquiry.
Lake County grand jury returns over 200 indictments against violators of the Nicholson law. More indictments expected as Sunday closing is rigidly enforced in HamMonp Indiana.
