Capt John Moloney aged 71 died at his home 1221 N Senate Ave at 4 am Thursday after a bout of apoplexy while serving as custodian of city yards on Priest. A Cork Ireland native, Civil War veteran with the Thirty fifth Indiana Regiment famed as Fighting Irishmen, he led daring actions including Wheeler capture at Munfordville and a bold cross of the trestle. He survived raids, prison, and a celebrated escape, later active in Democratic politics. Funeral Saturday at SS Peter and Paul church, burial Holy Cross.
