Color photography declared successful by Consul Pike
Consul W J Pike in Kehl reports a French Lyon firm has overcome prior limits and developed an amateur friendly color photography method. The process uses a starch color layer, a yellow exposure filter, and a simple development sequence that yields natural colored pictures in minutes, with color strength enhanced by a second developer.

Telegraphs promise 1000 words a minute with new linotype setup
A New York invention will allow telegraph messages to be written, transmitted, and instantly set in type by electricity. An automating linotype system, linked to an electric motor, would require only a machinist for lubrication and aims to remove human telegraph operators entirely. The device, demonstrated at upcoming National Business shows, could transform newspaper publishing by processing copy and printing at high speed.

Flatiron a Pigmy to This Highest Building in World
New York Sept 14 The staff photographer shows the best view yet published of the gigantic Singer building facing Broadway in the Wall Street district. He ascended to the 23rd floor of West Street tower then climbed to the cornice to capture a view of the 41 story structure. The nearby 26 story building appears small beside the new Singer. The photographer notes running up the steel frame is nearly finished. The Flatiron and Park Row buildings would look tiny beside the Singer if placed beside it.
