J R Armstrong faces grand jury action after a police court perjury ruling over an affidavit accusing W B Harris of fraud in a disputed oil burner patent. Harris, who sold stock in a Chicago dispersal, denied aiding the affidavit. Armstrong was jailed on bond awaiting further legal action. Harris had sold stock to prominent locals including Capitel National Bank officials Wilson and Dougherty.
The Zig zag cycling club of Philadelphia plans a Sept 22 meet. Riders journey to Noblesville and Peru for races. European record rider Lehr clocked 2 06 4 5 for a mile. Utica sees Arthur Ferris ride 350 miles in 24 hours. Several riders, trainers and international cyclists travel, race, and seek prizes up to $100. A couple embarks across the continent by tandem from San Francisco to New York in under 60 days.

The controller has learned Western Union challenged its assessment, creating a large taxable amount tied up in litigation.
