Public voice demands aid for graft prosecutions in Indianapolis

The Indianapolis Merchants association through attorney James W. Noel urged the Republican county council to restore 2000 dollars for special counsel in graft cases. Council had cut the amount amid shifts to trim grand jury stenographer and juror meal funds. Noel argued private citizens should not bear all costs and noted over 10000 dollars recovered for the county from investigations. Public pressure is expected to continue until funds for graft prosecutions are restored.
