A Lake Shore passenger train No. 14 was hijacked near Kendallville Indiana by twenty masked men at 1 am. They shot the engineer J Knapp and blew the express car safe with dynamite, stealing about 150000 dollars in currency and gold bars while passengers remained unmolested. Detectives and a local posse pursued the robbers as five suspects were arrested in Curacao Indiana.
