Officials report the president passed a comfortable night and shows improving health. Doctors say the danger point is past, with recovery likely. pivot to peace-time duties hinted as a second presidential day at the Pan-American exposition.
Buffalo bulletin reports the president in satisfactory condition and on rapid convalescence if no complications arise. Early morning readings show pulse 104, temp 99.8, respiration 26 with mouth reading noted as higher than rectal. later bulletin cites a peaceful night and improved pulse 113, temp 100.4, respiration 28. Attending physicians include Drs. Rixey Mann Mynter Wasdin Burney Cortelyou.

Senator Hanna left Buffalo for the G A R encampment in Cleveland while Dr McBurney heads east. The president took only lukewarm water and an egg white Tuesday and is not expected to need the presidency pro tem. Roosevelt visited the Zoo on Monday and Senator Fairbanks called at the Milburn home Wednesday.
From sketches by Dr Edward Wallace a surgeon in the presidential operation the account describes two bullets. The first struck the third rib near the side glance off without entering bone. The second penetrated the abdomen below the left nipple passing through the stomach.
Paris reports a Constantinople telegram states M. Libine and another French merchant settled claims with the Turkish government after the Franco Turkish rupture. Libine is said to have received 162000 Turkish pounds.

A mysterious package addressed to Czolgosz reached Buffalo police on September 10. Inspector Donovan opened it fearing an infernal device. Inside a pasteboard box contained boiled cabbage potatoes and bacon. Police suspect the food could have contained poison.
Buffalo dispatch reports items found on the president after leaving the emergency hospital. The list includes $180 in coin, a silver nugget pocket piece, three pocket knives, a battered coin, a wallet with 345 in notes, a silver shell lead pencil, three cigars, a gold watch and chain.
Captain Tom Halls of the U S secret service packed his grip Tuesday morning and departed for parts unknown amid reports he was summoned to help uncover the McKinley assassination plot. Washington officials reportedly favor using all secret service forces for similar cases as European links are considered. Halls declined to confirm orders when questioned.
Secretary of the Treasury Gage announces plans to place incoming internal revenue receipts with national bank depositories to balance bond security. A switch wedge found in the track is blamed. At 7 30 pm a Broad Ripple car derailed on Thirty fourth street while being rescued, tying up the line for about an hour.
Chief Wilkie reports Detective George Foster struck the assassin Leon Czolgosz twice during the Buffalo tragedy. A colored man behind the killer redirected a blow that likely prevented a third shot, while Gallagher wrestled the weapon and officers restrained Foster after a second blow.
A London correspondence notes the Philosophical Journal's July 8, 1900 prediction that President McKinley would be assassinated before November 1901. The Morning Leader cites this as a remembered forecast from a century ago.

Jerome Buerytz a Russian middle aged man claimed Paterson New Jersey as his home and proclaimed anarchist views and that McKinley deserved to be shot prompting a mob at a Huntington suburb hotel. Police protected him and he was jailed for safety.
Claudia Schrann aged 24 was found dead in her room in Chicago after reportedly drinking carbolic acid from a bottle of soda water. William Reagan, accompanying her in St Louis recently, was taken into custody. He says she drank the poison during the night and began screaming before dying.

Floyd Payne and John Walker rode from Indianapolis to Buffalo by bicycle and visited Cleveland where a water works crib fire and explosions occurred. Walker saved his life by jumping into the water and sued for 1500 dollars for clothing bicycle and injuries. Payne escaped unharmed. both blame contractors for no protection or life preservers.
