Ora Coppenhaver, a self confessed wife murderer, submitted to Bertillon measurements in the Ber tillon room with Ed McGuff. He remained calm and evasive as questions about the murder and his feelings were asked. He stated he would not have been sorry and said he was perfectly satisfied.
Democrats oppose, Republicans weigh cuts as city considers a 90 cent levy to meet obligations. Finance Chair Tom Wynne says the city must pay debts while Councilman Rhodes warns the levy may persist. The finance committee will review estimates Wednesday afternoon.
Senator Beveridge reports excellent health from a mountain outing in a letter to Indianapolis. He will open state campaigns in Utah on Sept 11 at Ogden, California on Sept 15 in San Francisco, Colorado on Sept 18 in Denver, then fulfill a Sept 26 engagement in South Bend.

Ex Kentucky governor W. H. Taylor faced an on board dispute with a Pennsylvania streetcar conductor over a transfer. Taylor says he did not threaten violence and paid after the conductor refused his transfer. Conductor and a fellow rider corroborate the conductors account. The company notes the transfer was overdue by 30 to 40 minutes.
The president's presidential train departed Hot Springs at 7 o'clock Tuesday. He did not appear before guests who had gathered. A brief stop occurred at Marshall, home of Senator Pritchard, where the president thanked supporters for early rising before arriving in Asheville at 2 20.
A mob of about 400 gathered Monday night after the arrest of Jos Goings for allegedly attempting to assault Lydia King's 9 year old daughter. Police defended Goings and eventually escorted him to a patrol wagon and later to the grand jury after a police court waiver.
The St Louis arrest of nine of eighteen men follows Fugitive John K Murrell returning from Mexico and confessing to boodling in the 1900 house of delegates combine. Robertson Edward E Murrell will aid the state and escape prosecution. Four city officials face jail for doodling after bail set at 15000 each.
The Linn family of 108 E Washington mourned 2 year old Carl Linn while firefighters from Engine house No 11 attended his funeral. Late the same day a healthy baby girl weighing about 10 pounds was born in the Linn home marking a turn from sorrow to joy.
Henry Smith of the Plainfield inter urban says a new Y in Plainfield is a finishing touch and expects the cars to run regularly in time for the Quaker's yearly meeting next week. He notes a remaining track to be connected from the Indianapolis company to West Indianapolis and that workers on College will move to this job, with service starting in a few days.
Chairman Goodrich of the Republican State Committee arrived in Indianapolis and attended the state headquarters. District Attorney Joe Kealing visited early for a lengthy conference about election return sheets filled with figures.
