Frank Garvin of 26 Avery Street Allegheny shot and killed his wife Cora at 10 30 Friday morning after they wed in Chicago Monday. Garvin 23 and Cora 20 were said to have had no quarrel. A note left by Garvin suggested he planned suicide but police intervened before he could act. Also reported a smash up injuring eight Italians aboard a flat car near Rocuston New York.

He married Mura Creek, age about 40, who had just secured a divorce from C R Creek. The couple planned to move to Chicago and attend Northwestern University, while the former husband remained.
In Urnoxtown Pennsylvania on September 9 the Cooley gang visited Tacob Cover a miser near Masontown. They bound him and were about to burn his feet when he confessed where his money was. The robbers secured 143 dollars before fleeing.
In New York on September 9 Jimmy Carrell posts a $1,000 forfeit for Johnny Griffin in a boxing match against George Dixon. The bout carries a $10,600 purse and mirrors the Dixon-Skelly fight conditions.
Jacob B. Swartz, of Naw Enoombrip, Pa, died Thursday evening after ten days of hiccuping that resisted medical treatment including morphine and a strong battery. The illness, noted as a peculiar malady, afflicted Swartz and reportedly other men, leading to his death despite doctors efforts.
