Engineer Wilcyiam Dunton commanded the locomotive. another locomotive assisted from Front Garrett to Chicago with a peak of 7% mph. Delays were attributed to a slower pace caused by a preceding train.

Tud Sept 7 Hubert McQuistion of Marion was severely beaten Sunday night by Omar Taylor. It is feared his skull is fractured. Taylor says McQuistion demanded money, attacked him with a knife, and Taylor defended himself. McQuistion could not narrate the events.
Detectives Kinney and Morgan arrested Florence Edwards, 2, of Edinburg Indiana, at the Adams Express office Monday on petit larceny charges. A hotel keeper from Edinburg notified police after she allegedly decamped with silverware and other items bound for Indianapolis. Edwards resisted contact with officers, cried at jail, and claimed the disgrace amid claims of a packed package of ware including silverware.
Independent voters in ward 18 met Saturday evening at the end of Prospect and 1 Laurel to nominate HG Alexander passenger agent of the A and D wharves for councilman. George, prohibition candidate for mayor, addressed the meeting. Mayor Jones of Toledo says he cannot speak in the local campaign. Samuel B Jones signs himself as a man without a party. Local prohibitionists received notice of the meeting of the nation’s committee to determine the next national convention place. State chairman Newlin is involved.
