Lyxoggura Va Oct 20 A Norfolk and Western train wreck at Liberty Tuesday night left one passenger and two trainmen dead with multiple injuries. In a separate incident two well dressed women offered to sell John Aufderheide diamond jewelry demanding 400 dollars after he inspected pieces at Kiefer's shop. The women later returned and attempted to seize the pieces but only partial items were recovered. Aufderheide demanded compensation for time.
Mrs. David Mummen was thrown from a buggy during a Wednesday runaway near Dacatur and died within an hour. The day also reported a bank robbery attempt at New Albany where two men demanded change but fled when cashier Hungary fired a warning shot. In Princess Anne, Sarah Hail and her brother Lewis Hall were convicted of incendiarism with a possible sentence of death or 25 years.

Barbourville Kentucky October 31 Samuel Smith, a young seducer, eloped with William Gilbart’s youngest deaf and dumb daughter. Earlier he had pursued Gilbart’s oldest deaf daughter and faced multiple bonds after killings. Gilbart vows to kill Smith on sight.
Winnipeg special reports convict Heffer will not travel to Chicago to testify in the Cronin murder case. Chief McRae also refuses to testify without an exorbitant fee. Assistant State's Attorney Baker heads home, believing Heffer holds crucial information about the Cronin murder.
