A large man robbed a church goods store Monday night but fled after being challenged by 15-year-old clerk Fred Laker who pursued him into the basement. The thief, wearing bulls eye glasses, escaped out the door leaving prints and items disturbed. The boy held the intruder at bay momentarily before the suspect slipped away in the darkness.
