Shoplifters Held In Toils By Police

Police capture two gangs of shoplifters after raids on Indianapolis stores J A Rink New York store and Ayres Co. Five Chicago suspects, Emma Marsh Louise Weg May Armstrong Anna Burt and Joseph Conley among those held. Detectives traced outfits and wraps valued at thousands of dollars carried from stores to hotels and onward to Delphi Monticello and Monon before arrests. Authorities plan preliminary hearings in October.

Forfeits Bond in Gambling Case at Criminal Court

Sam Farb, bondsman, faced a tough morning as Lee Stephens failed to appear for a gambling house charge at the Lorraine court. Judge Alford forfeited Stephens's bond and Farb posted a new bond for Beck, then forfeited it due to Beck's no-show. Arthur Peck also missed trial, his $500 bond was forfeited. bondsman William Peck stood behind the cash.

Rosack Discharged After Gambling House Case

Overcome by Gas At Oneida Hotel Room

Arthur Herre aged 19, a remer at the Oneida hotel, was overcome by escaping gas in his room Monday morning. He was found in a serious condition and the Dispensary team revived him. He denied any attempt at self harm.

Death comes for Carson B. George, city journalist

Carson B. George, a noted newspaper man in Indianapolis with prior posts at the Indianapolis Sun and Detroit Tribune, was found dead in his Valencia apartment room. Officials cited heart failure following a dysentery illness, after he had recently worked for W. D. Alison & Co. Pure Furniture. He was unmarried and leaves his brother John George, Indianapolis Coal Co. manager, as a survivor.
