In Covington on Thursday night Secretary Carlisle faced hostile reception as two eggs were thrown at him and a third near stage edge. Police escorted Carlisle from the hall after a plasterer named Fagin fired a lighted cigar at him. The event follows noisy public remarks on economic policy and a march toward political division as crowds booed and jeered.
Two men entered Fotter's drug store at Pennsylvania and North streets Thursday night around 9.00 pm, point a revolver at clerk, wrench the cash register from the counter, and flee south on Pennsylvania. The register was found later in the rear of the Chalfant. Police described the pair as young, tall and short, with handkerchiefs over faces. The cash register held between 825 and 30 dollars plus other money in the safe.
Secretary McGraith said the American Federation of Labor executive council adjourned after a Thursday session in the Desoto block. Reports of a failed effort to oust Gompers were denied as unfounded while council members from out of town reportedly departed.

He cites Cannon’s 1878 free coinage pledge and urges voters to press toward the journey s end. Paris cheers greet him as he speaks from the courthouse balcony.
