Marshfield Oregon October 21 The steamer Arago of the Oregon coal and navigation company broke to pieces on the Coos Bay jetty rocks and sank in minutes. Fourteen passengers and crew perished as boats and lifeboats struggled to save others. Capt Reed and crew fought to reach the rigging while rescuers later recovered few bodies.
