A jeweled young woman’s skeleton found in a Long Island woods prompts coroner Finlay Savage to link murder to an automobile shooting. A watch case bearing initials “A. L.” may identify the victim as detectives pursue the crime scene, timing, and vehicle details.
May Lane a chorus girl in Chicago became ill and lost her job leaving her three days without food. Police at Harrison Street collected $30 among officers and sent her to her wealthy New York mother where she now travels to recover.
Mrs. Frank Hering was granted a divorce from her husband, the newly elected grand worthy president of the Order of Eagles, on cruelty and inhuman treatment. Alimony awarded at 16,000 with no children.
Thomas Taggart travels to Indianapolis to boost Democratic party harmony. He will address Democratic workers at a city headquarters meeting on Wednesday night, introduced by City Chairman William F. Moore. Taggart will not run the campaign but will work within his sphere to unify the party and support Gauss ally John W. Holtzman’s efforts.
Inspector Isidor Wulfson pursued peddlers Ed Johnson and John Wilson for selling tainted potatoes. Johnson known as Judge Huffman and Wilson resisted arrest but were detained after a night pursuit aided by Officer Hillman. Pendegast, his wife, and the cook identified the suspects. Johnson to the workhouse.
Arthur Hill, a Michigan lumber magnate and prominent political figure, has come home to Saginaw after leaving a sanitarium in Evanston where treatment for a physical and nervous breakdown reportedly failed. Hill, once a U.S. Senate aspirant, is said to be nearing death.
Grand Grove and United Ancient Order of Druids sue Model Grove No 1 Modern Order of Druids alleging illegal secession and theft of lodge property valued at 400 dollars. They seek a restraining order and 1000 dollars in damages.
John Barso sues Anna Barso for divorce claiming they married in Hungary, she later said she does not love him and may pursue other men. Chirence Dunlop sues for divorce alleging Neora and Danlop affair. Trank Mayer seeks legal separation from Fern Mayer claiming she does not love him.
Mrs. Willam Archer of Belleville brandished a revolver to deter a mob outside her home in Sheldon Michigan. The group had aimed to tar and feather her over the disappearance of seven ¢ turkeys from a nearby farm. Archer obtained warrants for the ringleaders.
Joh Qllvernegro, arrested in Bloomington on neglecting his bia in Indianapolis, was fined $100 and sentenced to the workhouse for eight days in juvenile court Wednesday.
Roy Holmes aged 30 residing at 2041 Cooper avenue attempted suicide Monday night at Harley Reed’s home at 9 Garfield place by drinking most of an ounce bottle of carbolic acid. He was rushed to City hospital in serious condition after his wife and Mrs Reed restrained him. An ear abscess caused intense pain and despondency.
Chicago plans a new Union passenger station on Canal Street with a cost not less than 25 million dollars. Construction will start once five railroads agree on plans. The depot and yards will be built by the Pennsylvania and four fellow tenants, with each of the Alton Stau Burlington and Panhandle contributing 5 million as equal partners.

Charles Fike, 45, a liveryman, was found guilty by a jury in criminal court of attempting to murder his wife Minnie Fike last July. He faced a two to fourteen year term and was jailed immediately after verdict.

Wilson. Damages and an injunction are sought.
Twenty seven property owners filed a suit appealing from the assessment for the opening of Thirty third street from Meridian to Wilnica street.
Humane Inspector John Shine asks Washington War Department to compel Frank Gillish a Ft. Benjamin Harrison private to support his wife and five children. The mother is injured, two children at a detention home, three at a charity nursery, while Gillish is on furlough and untraceable.
Edwin F. Stimpson of the National Bureau of Standards visited Indianapolis to review Io Wulfson’s weights and measures work and to promote a state bureau. Stimpson praised Indianapolis for a high system and for saving citizens vast sums, urging similar efforts nationwide.
