He is charged with stealing a 9 diamond ring from Lenore Vent and had previously given the ring to Officer Mullin while courting Helen Mullin. Vent also says she missed a WT diamond ring and suspects Fleming obtained that as well. Fleming reportedly offered the ring to his sister but she refused. He had kept the ring for weeks and claimed to have lost it before.
