John Imboden 28 killed his sister brother and an elderly helper on Logan's creek near Fillington. He then struck his 15 year old sister and Jacob Wilhelm with an axe, murdered his 2 year old brother and cut him to pieces, and attacked two younger sisters who fled. He was captured after resisting arrest as a posse closed in. A prior suspicion haunts the scene with the death of his wife and two daughters last May suspected to be poisoned.
