City Boys Clerked Jewelry Heist At Dr Bye Home
Small boys entered the cellar window of Dr. Bye at 819 N Capitol Ave and abstracted several pieces of jewelry Thursday afternoon. Samuel Dorsey, a colored man, suffered an artery severing razor wound at Greathouse's saloon on Tuesday and again Thursday night. The wound bled severely and doctors at City Hospital saved him.

Freight Conductor Elliott Killed by Engine Collision
John T. Elliott a Vandalia freight conductor stepped from a caboose at the Transfer station west of the yards on Kentucky Ave Friday morning and was struck by an engine on a different track. He died at St Vincent's hospital at 11 30 o'clock with a crushed right leg and internal injuries. He was about fifty years old, with 15 years at Vandalia, survived by a widow and four sons. His body was taken to his home on Elizabeth Street.

John Streight, son of the late Gen. A. D. Streight, was declared of unsound mind by Judge Allen on Thursday. B. Frank Schmidt was appointed guardian. He will be taken to the Central Insane Hospital. Streight, once prominent in Cincinnati lumber business, suffered heavy losses in the 1893 panic and has lived with his mother at the old Streight homestead near Irvington.
