Four Foreigners Killed in Portland Train Crash
Four G. R. and F. section men were killed and ten seriously injured when a head on collision occurred six and a half miles south of Portland Indiana. The accident happened at seven o'clock Friday morning as the section men rode to work on a first car and collided with an approaching freight. A fog was blamed for the wreck. The dead and injured were foreigners. The injured were rushed to Portland for treatment but returned to their car, and one woman among the injured is reported near death. The crews escaped by jumping when trains were fifty feet apart.
