Report from Tuesday afternoon shows Taggart ahead among voters on the South side with heavy turnout in wards 11, 12, and 13. At 2 o clock observers stood firm that the full vote would be polled. Myron King said Republicans were scratching in precinct 10 ward 3 and a Republican heard him say that Third ward would lay down on them. After 1 o clock Tuesday precincts in Seventh and Eighth wards varied in vote return. Democrats led in early voting more often than Republicans. Seventh ward precincts, typically Democratic, claim strong gains for Democrats while Eighth ward Republicans predict Harding’s finish may exceed poll-book impressions, with Taggart not expected to equal Bryan’s fall tally.
John Barnes and Owen Cloud two colored men were arrested Tuesday morning charged with unlawfully offering to vote. They claimed 181 Virginia Ave as residence and their votes were challenged at the Fifth precinct Tenth ward. Essman posted bond and released them. Police prepared for a lively election day but no calls came until a late report from 69 Tacoma Ave near the Fourteenth precinct Eighth ward where polls had reportedly closed. Officers found the man excited and election officers had closed the polls during breakfast.

Dr Theodore Todd Munroe of Union South Carolina slit his veins in a hotel room while a fellow doctor, Dr Jerome Going of Aiken, watched. Munroe, facing a morphine addiction, died twenty minutes after inflicting fatal wounds as the two physicians discussed self-inflicted death for medical study.
Ludwig Sahm, father of Postma Sahm and Albert Sahm, died suddenly at his Fort Wayne Avenue residence early Tuesday. A German immigrant who arrived with the Fisher and Miller colony in 1816, he helped shape Indianapolis buildings as a longtime contractor. He leaves seven children and was a member of the German Pioneers' Society. funeral arrangements are private.
James Burton, alleged murderer of Fireman Frank Redmond, was moved to Greenfield a week ago on change of venue. A friend from Obie visited him, and by Monday noon Burton nearly sawed through iron bars to liberty before detectives urged his return to Indianapolis.
