Simon Yandes Dies. Indianapolis Philanthropist Passes
Simon Yandes, famed Indianapolis benefactor born January 5 1815 in Fayette County Pennsylvania, died at 6 30 am Monday at his brother Gee B Yanden's home 1 East Michigan Street after a brief illness of acute bronchitis. A lawyer by training he grew wealthy through real estate investments and became noted for distributing much of his fortune to charities and colleges. He never married and leaves elderly sister Elisabeth Robincem and brother George B Famden My as surviving kin. Funeral is set for Wednesday at 6 am with private services and Crown Hill interment.
