At Paterson New Jersey on Wednesday night six people were killed and many injured when Manhattan special No 6 waiting at the station was struck by Philipsburg Accommodation No 96 in a spectacular collision. The dead include W J Wellbrook Cornell student and members of the Craig family from Scranton. The crash occurred at 7 44 PM as the rear coaches of No 6 were crushed when No 96 bore down unable to stop. Ambulances fire crews and police arrived as the wreckage collapsed around the day coach.
