Wreck Kills Twenty Japanese. Five Injured in Canada
Twenty Japanese workers died and fifteen were injured when a work train wrecked near Vancouver on the Great Northern line between Vancouver and New Westminster. The locomotive surged past a washed-out culvert before failure. a bunk car was crushed. three flatcars piled up. a caboose remained on the tracks. George W. Kemp of Vancouver was badly hurt. In a separate dispatch from Washington, U.S. Vice Consul Caldera at Managua reports great danger and requests safe harbor in case of vandalism, with unclear permission from President Zelaya.

Robbers Fleed After Saloon Keeper Shows Fast Hand
