Mary Head, a colored claimant, seeks $6786 from the estate of John Frick, who died with about $55000 estate value. She asserts services to Frick and his wife, including nursing, washing, and mending clothes during 1883 to 1900, claiming no prior payment and a will remembrance. The case cites 65 weeks of nursing and 871 weeks of care across years.

Thieves forced entry to Fred Wolfe’s Edwardsport hardware store early Thursday, cracked the safe and took 50 dollars. They fled in a buggy as deputies pursued. The robbers also took knives and revolvers. A Plainville safe was said to have been blown and robbed late Wednesday night.

Richardson is an insurance and real estate man and former Indiana quartermaster general. The couple will reside at 2331 North Meridian Street in Indianapolis after a wedding trip.
Robert E. Groff, 55, a leading figure in Indianapolis labor circles, died Wednesday night at Deaconess hospital after months of poor health. A veteran knight of labor, he helped form the early closing association, led the Central Labor Union for four terms, and represented Retail Clerks in the central organization. He also served two years as secretary of the Indiana Federation of Labor. his wife predeceased him and no children survive. The Central Labor Union executive board plans to meet Thursday night to act on his death.
Three candidates have appeared for the secretaryship of the County board of health now held by Dr. H. W. Ridpath. The county commissioners will appoint with recommendations flowing in. Ridpath hopes for reappointment while Dr. Samuel McGaughey and Dr. A. L. Wilson are the other nominees.
Charles Polster, a Democratic saloon keeper on Indiana Ave, was arrested before an election for keeping a gambling device. A slot machine was found operating in his saloon and taken to the station. Polster appeared in police court seeking a continuance. case set for Thursday morning. Police found the machine and Polster did not deny violating the ordinance.
A jail release on a $1000 bond for William Moffitt, the alleged grave robber, led to confusion as the bond fixed by Judge Reagan was $5000. The release occurred after a forged or misapplied bond, with investigations ongoing to rearrest him if he remains in city.
Center township may shrink deputy constables to one per justice court. Four stables will retain a single deputy each, with David Smack, Harry Hildebrand, Phil Marer, and George Davis serving in various courts. He received a term from two to 18 years at the reformatory after a quarrel in which he shot at his wife three times as she was at her mother's house. Harris claimed he fired at a rival suitor paying attention to his wife.
President Roosevelts special train struck and killed a black trackworker near Boaz Kentucky on the Queen and Crescent line early Thursday morning. The incident occurred about 16 miles from Paducah as the train manned by the President’s party traveled through the state.
Four alleged robbers claimed to be Cincinnati youths shot at a Monon passenger train after being put off at Cyclone near Frankfort. Engineer Miller said none boarded. suspects chased three miles away and jailed. Names given: Johnson Charles 18, Mack John 20, Smith Frank 19, Gray Harry 19.
