Wreck on Lehigh Valley train line kills five
A Nov 11 wreck on the Lehigh Valley main line between Newport and Fairview killed five trainmen and badly injured four others. The crash followed a runaway engine collision as Train No 6, delayed by a disabled engine, collided with an incoming train. Dead include firemen Wm. Toxhemer and Fred Glasser, engineer John McNally, express messenger John McGreggor, and brakeman Jacob Engleman. Injured were several others, some not expected to survive.
