Dr J F Johnston of N Hindseat listens as two robbers held him up at his army store on the corner of Illinois and Clarists about 9 30 pm Thursday. A jailhouse shooting in Durance Colorado reports Jesse Haller attempting to kill the Carpenter family after a spring murder near Cortez. He killed Frank Carpenter and wounded a witness named Dale as a posse pursues the killer.
At Huntington Indiana a dynamite detonated among Keefer and Hollywood sewer contractors workers on their way to the Big Flint Creek project. Three men—Jack Flynn John Hartman Martin Keefer—died. Several others were seriously injured and nearby homes were damaged.
