A bloated female body was recovered Monday afternoon from White River near Broad Ripple, unknown identity. Earlier a drug store fire at 2152 Martindais Avenue was ruled arson by investigators, with owner Lester Wills reporting loss near 1,000 and insurance status unclear.
A big automobile plunges into the Chicago river at Jackson boulevard as the bridge opens. Divers search for victims while police confirm the ownership of the car and name possible occupants.
A deadly blaze at the Robert Morrison & Co. comb factory 132 Columbia Ave Brooklyn traps workers and spreads through a four story building. William Morrison the firms owner’s son dies while his father is badly burned. Seventy workers were inside as dozens were injured jumping from higher floors. Fire Chief Croker oversees the emergency as Brooklyn firefighters battle fiery cellulose and extensive explosions.
Edward A. Trevillyan a Cambridge dishwasher, 50, reportedly inherits England estate and $300,000 yearly income via a New York telegram signed J. G. Marshall. He asked for a dollar from his boss, was refused, and quit.

Miss Stengel of Indianapolis married a coast artillery lieutenant from Fort Totten after her father offered a partnership in the leather firm Stengel & Roths as a wedding gift. The engagement ring was returned and the couple wed at the Little Church Around the Corner in Newark before a Fort Totten honeymoon. Stengel had threatened disinheritance, but the bride remains unmoved.

The will of Mary A. Syfers, who died October 14, was probated Monday. Bequests include cash sums to sister Mrs. William Annatt of Worcester Ohio and nieces Clarissa Annatt and Adelia Annatt, plus several relatives in Indiana Ohio and Cincinnati. Rent from the estate goes to grandson Rufus Syfers Haughey, named executor. The estate includes a sizable 800 acre Henry county farm valued around $100000.
Boyd Markwell a 28 year old peddler was arrested near the police station by Detectives Duncan and Stewart after three days of pursuit. He initially denied his name but produced receipts and admitted his identity claiming the other man on the wagon was the guilty party.
A large gray timber wolf escapes from Herman Roeby’s property on S81 Prospect Street. Police are warned to seek the animal as residents fear danger on the south side. Neighbors report the animal is vicious and staked by a high barbed wire fence.
Two injured Fore River company employees died at the naval hospital in Portsmouth following the battleship North Dakota's trial run last Friday when a boiler-tube split. The dead are John T. Sauden, 16, and Peter McDonell, both of Quircy, Mass.
