Indianapolis reports two smallpox cases with a probable third. Patients are in the pest-house at City Hospital while a new site and building remain unfixed. Officials warn of further cases before a new facility is ready, with completion likely after the next election and not before next year.
About 260 Springfield Ohio teachers led by J. S. Weaver arrive by special Big Four train for the Central Ohio teachers association gathering. The group plans tours of Indianapolis public schools Friday through Saturday with sessions at Tomlinson hall and speakers including William Werthner and W H Maxwell. About 1,200 Ohio teachers are expected.
The W C T U will celebrate the twelfth anniversary of Hadley industrial school four miles west of Danville Indiana on the Big Four. The 110 acre grounds were deeded in 1890 by Mr and Mrs Addison Hadley to educate homeless girls in domestic work dairying and gardening. Funds are needed to admit more girls and the event tomorrow will feature a silver medal contest music drills and addresses by Prof Hostetter Pratt and Mrs McWhirter. Donations may be sent to treasurer Mrs Rebecca Hessong Nora Indiana.

Attorney general Taylor forced the Chicago and Southeastern railroad to pay back taxes to Parke Delaware Madison Montgomery Boone Hamilton and Clay counties totaling 23106.13.
